Richmond to Kruger via Imfolozi and Eswatini (Swaziland).  June / July 2022.

During Covid I started watching the Wild Earth programme which shows live morning and evening safari drives from some reserves in South Africa.  Last year I booked us on a 4 night safari at Djuma Game Reserve which is one of the reserves regularly used in the programme - this was my 70th birthday present to myself!!

We had agreed with our RIchmond house buyers that we would leave around the middle of June but we couldn't move into our Reebok house until August (part of the agreement with the sellers) so we arranged for our furniture to go into store and travelled in the van for the 6 weeks while we were between houses. The Djuma booking was in early July so our trip worked around that.

1.  Hluhluwe / Imfolozi Game Reserve.  We stayed at a new campsite just outside the Nyalazi entrance gate and drove into the park each day.  On our way we had a few days at Umlalazi Nature Reserve.

2.  Eswatini (Swaziland).  On our way north we spent a few days at Mabuda Guest Farm and on the way back we stopped at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary.

3.  Kruger National Park.  We spent 4 nights at Pretoriuskop Rest camp and explored the Park from there.

4.  Djuma Game Reserve.  There were just 6 of us at the lodge and we did daily morning and evening drives with our guide Steve.
