England. September to November 2016
After buying our camper van we did a few short trips in England so that we could get used to her and work out what we needed for a longer trip to France and Spain.
Tewkesbury.
We bought our van from a motorhome dealership in Tewkesbury and spent a day exploring the town. The River Avon meets the River Severn at Tewsesbury and is navigabable as far as Stratford-upon-Avon.

The large catherdral in the town centre.

There were lots of Tudor houses along the main streets.

Oxford
My hospital appointments are in Oxford where we use the Park & Ride facility. One lovely October day we spent a few hours wandering around the city centre.

Whenever we had good weather we tried to get out and about. We enjoyed several walks alongside canals. |
The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, near Tamworth.
|
Kennet and Avon Canal, near Malborough.
|
Woodend, Lake District.
We spent some time with friends in the Lake District. We had some wet days interspaced with some sunshine when some of the views were lovely.

|
The hamlet of Ulpha, near Woodend, has a small hall where they have bi-monthly folk- based evenings with a range of artists. We went to 2 of them and thoroughly enjoyed them. |
