Botswana. February / March 2018

When we had 2 months in South Africa last year we spent all our time in Richmond sorting out a vehicle and getting the house sorted. When we returned to South Africa in January 2018 for 4 months I was determined that we'd spend some time traveling. When I looked back through our website I realised that it was over 4 years since we'd been in the north of Botswana so I decided that would be our destination.

We had 3 weeks away with 2 of them in Botswana - a very short trip for us but we'd spent the first month getting the veranda re-tiled and we had to fit it in before our niece's wedding and my sister and her husband visit at Easter.

We'd never been to Khutse before, it's one of the least well known of the Botswana Game Reserves, so I booked 6 nights there at 3 different campsites.

We then travelled up to Kasane, spent 3 nights at Senyati Safari Lodge followed by 3 nights at Ihaha campsite in Chobe Game Reserve - the first time I'd managed to get a booking there.

We had a great trip and really enjoyed being back in the bush. Most of our previous trips to Botswana have been during the dry season so it was lovely to see the country looking so green after good rains in February.
