Karoo and Garden Route. March 2024 *
Di and David stayed with us for 3 weeks. We spent most of the time at home in Reebok doing several trips out. We also spent a week visiting four of the South African National Parks - Camdeboo, Mountain Zebra, Addo Elephant Park and Storm's River Mouth.
Addo Elephant Park December 2023*
Plenty of elephants on show in the northern section of this Park plus some other good animal sightings.
Di and David's first visit to the Western Cape. We spent some time exploring the Cape Peninsula and then drove back to Reebok via Cape Agulhas.
We met up with Carol and Darryl for a few days and explored some of the West coast.
Hluhluwe, Kruger, Eswatini. 2022 *
We travelled to Kruger and Djuma Games Reserves via Hluhluw/Imfolozi and Eswatini (Swaziland).
We revisited Spioenkop, Dundee, Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana and also stayed at Weenan Game Reserve.
We travelled slowly down to Paarl for a couple of repairs on our Bush Lapa and then spent time in the winlands, Onrus and the western end of the Garden Route where we spent 3 weeks looking at houses as well as exploring the area.
KwaZulu-Natal and Naude's Nek Pass.2021 *
Between March and June we explored the local area and did 3 short trip, two to the northern KZN coastal area and one travelling over Naude's Nek Pass in the Eastern Cape.
We spent most of the time in Richmond but did visit the Sani Pass, Imfolozi Game Reserve, Scottburgh, Happy Wanderers and Oribi Gorge.
We drove across the Karoo to the mouth of the Orange RIver at Oranjemund and then followed the Orange RIver upstream.
3 weeks travelling from Punda Maria in the north down through the Kruger NP to Berg-en-Dal in the SW of the Park.
Di (my sister) and her husband, David, spent 2 weeks with us. As well as time in Richmond we visited Sani Pass, Golden Gate NP,Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge and Umlalazi Nature Reserve.
Our friends Geoff & Paula had neve been up Sani Pass so we went up together. We had a night in Himeville and another at Sani Top Chalets.
A long weeked in Mngazana with Geoff and Paula, staying in a house owned by a friend of Geoff's.
Golden Gate NP --> Karoo NP --> Sutherland --> Cape Peninsula --> Cape Winelands --> back to Richmond.
Several short trips to parts of KZN: Splashy Fen, Chelmsford Dam, Clansthal, Creighton Aloe Festival.
Our great-nephews, Jason & Mark (twins) love fishing and wanted to go to Bloemhof so we had a week there at the end of November after they had broken up

We took Mark & Jason to Kruger NP - their first visit there. They were excellent at spotting animals and we had some great sightings.
